First Polk County COVID-19 vaccinations given today at Mena Regional Health System

There was much anticipation and excitement for the frontline staff at MRHS as a landmark milestone was recorded this afternoon in Polk County’s fight against the coronavirus.

Dr. Darin Swonger, ER Physician at Mena Regional was the first to receive the Pfizer vaccine. The vaccinations, which are voluntary, were also given to other front line staff and 75 of the MHRS team will be vaccinated over the next several days.
