Today is the first day of Autumn one of my favorite seasons of the year. Before we know it, we will be experiences colder weather. We get the opportunity to experience the beauty of nature as the different changes take place. The beauty of the changing off the color of the leaves, no more grass to mow, and the different black birds that comes through in droves migrating for the winter. If you have not noticed these changes this year take some time out, go camping and refuel yourselves for a long cold winter season.

I know everyone is aware that there are children in the street early morning running to get on the school bus. There have been so many accidents in other areas, we don’t want the same for our children. So, drivers be on the lookout for the early morning children.

I am so sorry to report that we have experienced two transitions in our family since we last reported. My God-son Matthew Shannon passed away in Chicago, and Mae Lue Sampson, in Little Rock, Arkansas both services were held on Saturday, September 14, 2019. Matthews funeral was in Chicago, Illinois. And sister Sampson was at Piggee Memorial Baptist Church in Graves Chapel. Our prayers are with you.

Piggee Memorial Baptist Church hosted the 5th Sunday Singing Convention, beginning Saturday, September 29th with planning sessions, preaching, Bible study, and singing. Lunch was served Sunday. We had all participating church choirs singing, the Word and a delicious meal served by the Church.

Sister Beneather Graves is still recovering at home. I am sure a phone call would encourage her. Quan Maxwell is improving at home. Keep our sick in your prayers.

Sevier County will be voting as to impose a tax on its residents to build a new hospital in De Queen, due to the closing of the old one. Make sure to look for or call the courthouse for more information on this transaction. We will all be involved.

Just a note of caution to the Seniors especially. Be careful how you give out your personal information to strange callers who claims you have won a large prize and money. They ask to send a large sum of money to cover taxes, It’s a scam! Don’t do it. Make sure you know someone before giving out your personal information, that includes your name. Ask who is first. Just wanted to pass this alone because I have been called several times.

Christian Refresher: 2 Timothy 2:15, 16 KJV, Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babblings; for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

Encouragement; use what talents you possess; the woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best…Henry Van Dyke.
