Mena Bearcat junior high head basketball coach Corey Collins announced last week that he will no longer lead the junior high program following one season at the helm.
Collins acknowledged that he has accepted the senior high girls head basketball position at Nemo Vista School District in Center Ridge, Arkansas.
“I am going back home to be the head girls basketball coach at Nemo Vista,” Collins posted to social media. “I am thankful God chose me to be apart of the Nemo Vista family to impact this next generation. He has blessed my past, my present, and now my future.”
Collins extended his thanks to Mena and those that impact his tenure at Mena Publics Schools.
“Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to coach, educate, and be apart of such a great school and community,” Collins stated. “To the community and parents, thank you for all the love and support you have shown to me and my wife this year. Y’all are the best around!”
Collins also went on to thank head coach Randy Peters as well as the other coaches that makeup the Mena Athletic Department.
“I am going to miss everything about Mena…..the students, the players, the teachers, the administration, and the community. I am blessed to have been apart of Mena.”
