Coach Randy Peters told The Mena Star on Friday that Ryan Luttmer will be the next head coach of the Mena Jr. Bearcats basketball team.

Luttmer will be preceeding Peters who was named the senior high coach earlier this offseason. Luttmer is also an assistant to the Mena Bearcat Football team and has been at Mena since 2016.

”I’m excited and super pumped! I’m ready to go,” Luttmer noted on being the Jr. Bearcats Coach.

“I’m excited for Randy [Peters] as well, he definitely deserves the senior high job.”

What is Coach Luttmer most excited about? “Games are awesome, but practice is where it’s at, and that’s where you get better! I’m excited to get to work with the guys every day.”

Coach Luttmer went on to add it has been a pleasure to work with Coach Peters the past couple of years, and he looks forward to being his assistant coach.

In other news, Brad Lyle will assist Coach Peters with the senior high basketball team.
