This week Coach Mussleman and the Razorbacks reached out to three athletes in the transfer portal.
First off, Arkansas reached out to Indiana graduate-transfer Justin Smith, who averaged 10.4 points and 5.2 rebounds per game, playing 32 games for the Hoosiers last season. Smith stands at 6’7 and weighs 230 pounds. If Smith does choose to come play for the Hogs, he will be eligible to play in the 2020-21 season.
Alongside Justin Smith, the Razorbacks have also reached out to Utah transfer Both Gach. Gach stands 6’6, weighing183, and averaged 10.7 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game in his sophomore season at Utah. Unlike Smith, Gach will have to sit out a season if the NCAA doesn’t grant him eligibility.
Last but not least, St. John's transfer L.J. Figueroa was contacted by Arkansas this week. Figueroa averaged 14.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game last season. Including Arkansas, Figueroa has been contacted by Memphis, Texas Tech, Dayton, Ohio State, Oregon, Georgia Tech, Samford, UCLA, and Auburn.
On Wednesday, 6’8 power forward Will Tschetter out of Stewartville Minnesota, in the class of 2021, got an offer from Coach Mussleman. Tschetter averaged 35.6 points per game this past season, while shooting 68 percent from the floor and 44 percent from three point land. Tschetter is the leading scorer in the state of Minnesota. The big man is not only an upright shooter, but he is a beast in the paint and will attack the rim at will.
Also this past week, four-star shooting guard Chance Moore out of McEachern High caught the eye of the Razorbacks, and received an offer. So far he’s also received offers from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Mississippi, Rutgers, South Carolina, South Florida, Wake Forest, and Xavier. The shooting guard in the class of 2021 stands 6’5, weighs 185, and is ranked 69th nationally.
