SHERIFF’S LOG

The following information was received from Polk County Sheriff Mike Godfrey for the week of September 14, 2015 – September 20, 2015. The charges against those arrested are allegations and the cases are still pending in the courts. Individuals charged and whose names appear in this column may submit documentation to us at a later date that the charges have been dismissed or that they have been found innocent and we will include that information in this space in a timely manner.

September 14, 2015

Arrested was Michael R. Delmastro, 33, of Mena, on a Warrant for Absconding. Delmastro was placed on an ankle monitor and bonded out of the Polk County Detention Center awaiting transport to Arkansas Department of Corrections when bed space became available. She fled to California, but was picked up by U. S. Marshals. She was transported back to Polk County at a cost of $1,500.00. The county will be seeking restitution.

Report from complainant on Airport Lane near Mena of vandalism done to a hangar and airplane fuselage, causing damages of $400.00. Investigation continues.

Report from a business in Hatfield of a gas drive-off, totaling losses at $23.88.

Report from complainant on Highway 8 West near the Shady Grove community of a credit card scam, totaling losses at $32,000.00. Investigation continues.

Report of threats being made towards an employee at an office on Church Street in Mena.

Report from complainant on Highway 88 East near the Cherry Hill community of the theft of a license plate from a trailer, totaling losses at $25.00. Investigation continues.

Report from complainant on Polk 194 near the Ink community of the fraudulent use of their identity.

Report of an accident on Highway 71 South near the Potter community led to the arrest of Dakota J. Downs, 24, of Mena, on Charges of DWI and Careless/Prohibited Driving.

September 15, 2015

Report of a disturbance on Highway 375 East near Mena led to the arrest of James P. Maggert, 45, of Mena, on a Charge of Domestic Battery 3rd Degree.

Report from complainant on Polk 90 near the Acorn community of unauthorized persons on their property. Investigation continues.

September 16, 2015

Arrested was Kristalynn N. Ollar, 25, of Mena, on Warrants for Probation Violation and Failure to Comply with a Court Order.

September 17, 2015

Arrested was Jason D. Wilkerson, 26, of Mena, on a Warrant for Violation of Suspended Imposition of Sentence.

Report from a Hatfield woman of problems concerning child custody.

Arrested was Jessica M. Ellinger, 25, of Mena, on a Warrant for Failure to Comply with a Court Order.

Arrested was Keena M. Relaford, 23, of Cove, on a Warrant for Probation Violation.

September 18, 2015

Report from a Smithville, OK man of the theft of a laptop, valued at $3,000.00, while in Polk County. Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

Report of suspicious activity led to a 17-year-old Mena male being issued a Juvenile Citation for Possession of a Schedule VI Controlled Substance. The juvenile was released to the custody of a parent/guardian.

Arrested was Alisha G. Burr, 28, of Mena, on a Warrant for Probation Violation.

Arrested was Thomas L. Kidwell, 36, of Mena, on a Drug Court Sanction.

Arrested was Barbara J. Connell, 30, of Mena, on a Drug Court Sanction.

September 19, 2015

Report from complainant on Polk 169 near the Potter community of the theft of a tool. Complainant refused to press charges.

Report from complainant on Polk 32 near Cove of being harassed by an acquaintance. Investigation continues.

Report from complainant on Polk 10 near Wickes of problems with a firearm that had been ordered online. Investigation continues.

Arrested was Timothy G. Bailey, 37, of Cove, on a Body Attachment Warrant.

Report of a disturbance on Polk 45 near the Shady Grove community. Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

September 20, 2015

Arrested by an officer with the Grannis Police Department was Justin D. Price, 36, of Gillham, on a Body Attachment Warrant. Polk County Sheriff’s Office worked two vehicle accidents this week. Polk County Detention Center Jail Population: 26 Incarcerated Inmates; 8 Inmates currently on the Waiting List for a State Facility, of which 2 are currently out of jail on a monitoring system.

September 14, 2015

After having responded to several calls to a local residence, Helen Turner, 44, of Mena was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. Clara D. Ferguson, 40, of Mena was arrested on an outstanding warrant for violation of Arkansas hot check law.

September 15, 2015

Helen Turner, 44, of Mena was taken into custody and charged with obstructing governmental operations. Jason Dewey Wilkerson, 26, of Cove was charged with fraudulent use of a credit card and theft of property after officers investigated allegations from a Mena woman when she discovered that her credit card was missing.

September 16, 2015

No reports completed.

September 17, 2105

Travis Dixon, 24, of Mena was arrested on an outstanding warrant for failure-to-appear.

Report was taken of a man exposing himself to a local woman. Case is pending further investigation and interview of suspect and witnesses.

Report was taken of a woman reporting that her daughter had been abused while in the custody of the girl's father and grandmother. Case has been referred to Arkansas State Police.

September 18, 2015

Charles Douglas Morgan, 38, of Mena was arrested on an outstanding warrant. He was additionally cited for driving on a suspended license and having no insurance on his vehicle.

Report was taken of a man running into the building at a local gas station and leaving without acknowledging the accident. Case is pending review of surveillance tapes and identification of suspect.

Report was taken from a local woman regarding an acquaintance stealing money from her purse. Case is pending.

September 19, 2015

Teresa Bates, 42, of Mena was charged with DWI and refusal to submit to a BAC. A local man reported that while he was out, someone had gone onto his patio and set a flowerpot on fire. Case is pending. Officers completed an additional five reports and worked five accidents.
