Interviews have been scheduled to decide who will be selected to contract for marketing services for  Mena’s Advertising and Promotion Commission

Micheal Cate, of Avalon Keep, and the  Mena-Polk County Chamber of Commerce have each responded to the AP’s search to fill the shoes of Donnie Crane, who vacated the position at the first of the year.

A committee meeting Thursday, Jan. 25 resulted in interviews scheduled for Monday, Feb. 5 and Tuesday, Feb 6.

The consensus among committee members was to expedite the process as much as possible in light of the upcoming Lum-N-Abner Festival and to allow for planning.

After the second interview Tuesday, the committee will meet to discuss a recommendation to the AP Commission, including a proposed contract.

More than 30 questions were reviewed by the committee members during a two-hour meeting.

The number of questions that will be asked during both interviews was reduced in attempts to keep interviews to approximately 30 to 45 minutes.

The AP Commission will meet Wednesday, Feb. 7.
