Pageant Officials looking for delegates to represent Mena

Arkansas International pageant officials are looking for delegates to represent Mena at the State Competition. Married women between the ages of 21 – 56, Miss Contestants ages 19-30 and Teens ages 13 -18. For more information go to  www.arkansaspageants.com. Each new titleholder will be awarded a crown and sash to represent her community at the State competition, April 17-19. The State pageant will be held at Maumelle High School and tickets are available at the door.

A Community Service Award will be given to the contestant with the most hours of volunteering for their communities. A mentoring program is set up with the Miss Teen Arkansas International and Miss Arkansas International Competitions. The winners will receive a cash scholarship and compete in the State pageant April 17-19. The State prize packages totals more than $8,000 in gifts and cash for each division. The Miss winner receives a scholarship from ASU in Jonesboro. Deadline to enter is March 10th. Workshop will be March 15th. All paperwork and fees must be paid by this date.

Mrs. Arkansas International is an official preliminary of the Mrs. International Pageant, a system that recognizes the virtues of professional, family and community involvement among married women. “Mrs. Contestants compete in three categories,” says State Director, Bernee Thurow. “Fifty percent of the score is given in the interview category for the Mrs. Delegates. Twenty five percent is awarded in the physical fitness category in aerobic wear and twenty five percent is awarded in the evening gown category. Contestants wear aerobic wear for the physical fitness competition and there is no swimsuit competition in our pageant.”

In the Mrs. Division the husbands will share in the experience as well, by having the honor of presenting the official Mrs. Arkansas International crown to their wife. “The Teens and Miss contestants compete in interview 40%, fashion runway 20%, physical fitness 20%, and evening gown 20%. The contestants compete in a one or two-piece aerobic wear and not swimsuit. There is no talent competition required in this event and there is no previous pageant experience necessary,” said Thurow. Scholarships available for the new titleholders.

The Little Miss contestants pageant is April 18th. You must be signed up and all fees paid before the deadline date of April 5th. Applications are available on our website.
