Two-vehicle accident traps three injured victims

Law enforcement officers and area fire departments were dispatched to a two-vehicle accident minutes after 5 p.m. on Friday, March 1 on Hwy 71, South of the Mena city limits. Two people occupied a Toyota SUV and a driver was pinned in the Dodge Dakota truck. According to Polk County Sheriff, Scott Sawyer, all three were trapped in the vehicles and had to be extricated.  All three victims suffered serious injuries and were taken to Mena Regional Health System prior to being transferred to Hot Springs or Little Rock.
