After a busy spring with “Annie” and the Benson Awards, Ouachita Little Theatre has a slate of summer entertainment that is sure to appeal to Polk County residents.
JOLT Production “Necropolis High” - Local young playwrite Logan Sweeten has written an original comedy with a dark twist. Performed by our Junior Ouachita Theatre players and directed by Makayla Kenyon-Ortiz, this production will be on the OLT stage June 28-30 and July 5-7. Come support our young thespians!
Marty Haggard – A Tribute to My Dad - After last year’s successful and very popular concert on the OLT stage, Merle Haggard’s son, Marty, is returning to Mena on July 11 at 7:00 PM. Advance tickets are on sale now at the OLT office for $26; they will be $30 at the door. Doors will open at 6:00 PM. This is a concert presented by Marty and does not qualify on your OLT Season Ticket.
“Still on the Hill” Concert Sunday July 21– Kelly and Donna Mulhollan are a folk duo who weave the history of the Arkansas Ozarks with beloved songs that tell the story of our region through music and remembrances. This popular show was presented in the past at OLT, and this time your OLT season ticket will cover the cost of your admission. If you don’t have a season ticket, prices are $12 for adults, $8 for seniors and students.
“Always Patsy Cline”- A live tribute to Pasty Cline, this is the story of the legendary singer who died tragically in a plane crash when she was only 30 years old. This show will be performed August 2,3,4,9,10, and 11. Starring our very talented Lana Gail Coogan, this musical play is sure to be a highlight of the OLT season. Free Movies at Wednesday Night at the Lyric – The second Wednesday night of every month is the OLT “Wednesday Night at the Lyric” party. Anyone is welcome to attend as we show family friendly movies in the theatre, reminiscent of times gone by. July 10 the feature will be “True Grit” starring John Wayne as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of this landmark film in his career. August 14 the movie will be everyone’s favorite summer musical, “The Music Man” starring Robert Preston and Shirley Jones. Admission is free, concessions are unbelievably cheap, and donations are always welcome!
Drop by the OLT office at 601 Mena Street where you can purchase season tickets or individual tickets for shows Monday through Friday 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM daily. You can also get copies of your old VHS or other media put on DVD for a very reasonable price! Come “play” with us at OLT!
