The following information was received from Polk County Sheriff Scott Sawyer for the week of March 2, 2020 – March 8, 2020.  The charges against those arrested are allegations and the cases are still pending in the courts.  Individuals charged and whose names appear in this column may submit documentation to us at a later date that the charges have been dismissed or that they have been found innocent and we will include that information in this space in a timely manner.

March 2, 2020

Report from complainant on Polk 36 near Hatfield of a trespasser causing damage to a door lock in the amount of $50. Investigation continues.

Report from complainant on Mill Street near Cove of items missing from a mailbox valued at $37.00. Investigation continues.

Report from complainant of Polk 125 near Rocky of a scam involving a computer and banking information. Investigation continues.

Report from complainant on Hwy 278E near Wickes of a missing family member. Investigation continues.

Arrested was Kymberlie A. Chaney, 22, of DeQueen on three Failure to Appear Warrants and a Parole Revocation.

Arrested was Nevada Woodruff, 30, of Cove on two Failure to Appear Warrants and a Charge of Contempt of Court.

Arrested was David W. Howell, 38, of Waldron on a Failure to Appear Warrant.

Arrested was Andrea D. Main, 30, of Mena on two Warrants for Delivery of Meth or Cocaine and a Charge of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and a Charge of Possession of Schedule I or II.

Report from complainant on Colin James Lane near Cove of a person violating a no contact order.

Report from complainant on Polk 21 near Cove of possible credit card fraud or identity theft. Investigation continues.

Report from complainant on Polk 676 near Acorn of problems between neighbor’s dogs. Deputies responded.

March 4, 2020

Report from complainant on Bunyard Lane near Ink of a theft of household items. Investigation continues.

Report from complainant on Gleinare near Mena of theft of porch furniture valued at $225.00. Investigation continues.

Arrested was James R. Pierce, 33, of Mena on a Seven Day Sanction

Arrested was Annie L. Aswell, 39, of Mena on a Warrant for Failure to Appear.

March 5, 2020

Report of an altercation between Juveniles led to a Charge of Battery 3rd Degree.

March 6, 2020

Traffic stop led to the arrest of Tylyn E. Morlang on Charges of Fleeing in a Vehicle and Driving Left of Center.

Report from complainant on Hwy 278E near Wickes of missing money in the amount of $100.00 led to a Juvenile Citation for Theft of Property being issued.

Report of an unattended death on Polk 712 near Shady Grove.

March 7, 2020

Report from complainant of a busted windshield led to the arrest of Skyler Allen, 18, of Mena on a Charge of Disorderly Conduct.

Report from complainant on 246W near Hatfield of being scammed in a business agreement. Information has been forwarded to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

Report from complainant on Rushing Lane near Shady Grove of unauthorized persons on their property. Investigation continues.

March 8, 2020

Traffic stop on Polk 18 near Cove led to the arrest of Dustin C. Hopper, 28, of Cove on Charges of Reckless Driving, Failure to Yield to a Stop Sign, Improper Turn at an Intersection, Failure to Use a Turn Signal, and Driving Left of Center.

Traffic stop on Hwy 71S near Mena led to the arrest of Katrina K. Hendricks, 48, of Mena on a Charge of DWI.

Report from complainant on Polk 676 near Acorn of a domestic disturbance led to a Juvenile Citation for Disorderly Conduct being issued.

Report from complainant on Polk 48 near Potter of a disturbance. Deputies responded and information has been forwarded to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

Arrested was Ricky D. Miller, 59, of Cove on a Warrant for Forgery 2nd Degree.

Arrested by an officer with the Drug Task Force was Robert H. Williams, 43, of Mena on a Charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Firearm by Certain Persons and a Warrant from another Agency.

Polk County Sheriff’s Office worked two vehicle accidents this week.

Polk County Detention Center Jail Population: 27 Incarcerated Inmates , with 9 Inmates currently on the Waiting List for a State Facility.
