County Road

“Heavy rainfall overnight and through noon yesterday has caused major damage to our county roads, bridges, and drainage structures. Although there is damage countywide, It appears that the heaviest damage occurred in northern and western parts of Polk County,” shared Polk County Judge Brandon Ellison.

He continued, “As much as 13 inches of rain has been reported. We worked late yesterday making sure residents could get in and out and we are out this morning doing what we can. Please realize everything is saturated and it is difficult to repair things in a permanent satisfactory manner until things dry out, so much of our work will be incomplete. Our first priority is to make sure our citizens can access their properties and are accessible for emergency vehicles.”

Please report impassable County Roads to the Judge’s office at 394-8132 or 394-8133.
