Local Youth Giving Back to Community Through Santas 4 Seniors Program

Area youth and local community members gather donations to give local seniors in need. Each year the Polk County Extension Office takes applications for local senior citizens in need. Seniors provide a list of the items they could greatly benefit from. Polk County 4-H Clubs, community volunteers, and local businesses gather the items right before Christmas. The items, accompanied by a food basket, are delivered to the seniors as Christmas approaches.

This program has been a great blessing to many seniors in the community as well as the 4-H youth that deliver the gifts. The Polk County Extension Office as well as the 79 seniors who benefited from the program this Christmas are thankful for the local community members and businesses who donated items and food for the program.
