Number of positive COVID-19 cases increases to 96 in Arkansas

During Governor Asa Hutchinson COVID-19 update this afternoon, the number of positive confirmed cases in the state of Arkansas increased from 62 to 96; at least one of which was in Polk County. Other counties that are now included within the 96-count are Benton and Greene.

As of March 20, 1:19 p.m., 203 persons are under investigation (PUI), 548 persons are being monitored by the ADH with daily check-in and guidance because of an identified risk and 351 past PUIs with negative test results. The breakdown of the 96 confirmed by age demographic is: eight are children, 26 are adults older than 65 years of age and 62 between the ages of 19-64.

According to Dr. Nathan Smith, there is a slight increase in cases with women over men and the majority in regard to race is 71 white, 17 African American and the remaining number is race unknown.
