The 2019 Polk County Relay for life kicked off at Janssen Park on Friday, May 17 at 6 p.m.
“We had a successful night of fundraising during the event,” shared Tabatha Vieira, Co-Chair of the Polk County Chapter. “We will have a final dollar amount this evening, but I do know we exceeded our goal of $50,000 by at least $2,000. We appreciate all of the support the community has given our teams and for every dollar that has been given for Relay for Life....I was asked by a friend if I was going to take a step back for the next year. My response was no. I am ready to get started on 2020,” Vieira replied.
Teams that set up camp for the evening include Union Bank, Walmart, Tyson, Acorn Public School, Mena Public School, Mena Regional Health System, Sandra’s Hope with Healthy Connections, First Financial Bank, Myers Cruizzers, Polk County Courthouse Heroes, and Nidec.
