On behalf of Governor Asa Hutchinson, the Arkansas Department of Education is pleased to announce that the Governor’s Scholastic Honors Day was held on April 27, 2019 at the Governor’s Mansion in Little Rock.

Scholastic Honors Day recognizes Arkansas’ best and brightest students. Public and private high schools are encouraged to select two students who best represent academic achievement in their senior class. 

Acorn High School was represented by Makayla Anderson and Tessa Kesterson. 

Makayla plans to attend the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith and major in Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Makayla is the seventeen year old daughter of Jammey & Rhonda Anderson of Mena. 

Tessa plans to attend the University of Arkansas Cossatot and pursue a degree as an Occupational Therapist Assistant. 

Tessa is the eighteen year old daughter of Travis & Tina Kesterson of Grannis.
