Leonard Newton Jones passed from this life May 14, 2020 in Fort Smith, AR, he was 82 years old. He was a member of the Winfield Baptist Church, a hard worker, loving Husband, Father and Poppa. He worked as a rancher, truck driver, feed mill and live haul for Tyson for many years.
On June 29, 1958 he married his sweetheart Janice Marie Aynes, they enjoyed 62 years together. He loved camping, hunting, fishing and gardening and spending time with family, friends and good country music.
Leonard leaves behind to cherish his memory Janice, son Justin and wife Tammy and grandson Cody Parks, Terri and granddaughter Jessica Hattabaugh of Waldron and Russelville, sister, Mary Francis and husband Henry Caenen and sister-in-law Vicky Jones of Kansas and by numerous nieces, nephews, friends and other family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Icie Missouri Jones, brother James and Douglas Jones, and by many aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be held Monday May 18, 2020 from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday May 18, 2020 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Sehorn Cemetery under the direction of Martin Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas.
Pallbearers will be Bruce Waddle, Dennis McCullom, Robert Slagle, Miles Dozier, Kirk Owens, and Rodney Davis. Honorary pallbearers are Gary Clepper, Buzz Morris, Troy and Greg Aynes.
He was a kind sole, big heart, would do anything he could do to help someone, he could strike up a conversation with anybody. He will be gravely missed by all who knew and loved him.
