William “Freddy” Fredrick Hamm, Jr. age 74 of Mena, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2017 in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

He was born in Heavener, Oklahoma on September 30, 1943 to William Fredrick Hamm, Sr. and Fern Elizabeth Shupert Hamm.  Mr. Hamm was married to Diane L. Tobias Hamm for 49 ½ years. He worked as a truck driver in the transport business for 50 years. Mr. Freddy drove school bus #24 and his kids, the most precious cargo he ever carried, thought of him as “Grandpa.” He enjoyed playing dominos with his buddies, Malcom, Mickey, Dennis and Don.  His favorite television shows were Star Trek, Fox News and anything with John Wayne. Freddy liked to build things in his own “unique” way. He was a great humanitarian, always willing to help those in need. When asked by his son, “why do you always carry a pocket knife”? he replied, “to cut seats belts if I need to.” Most of all he loved spoiling his wife anyway he could.  Freddy was a loving and kind husband, father, grandpaw, brother and friend to all.

He is survived by  his wife, Diane L. Hamm of Mena, Arkansas; sons, William S. Hamm and wife Christine of Coupeville, Washington, Timothy A. Hamm and wife Shawna of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; Daughter, Dawn Dianne Lea and husband Billy of Mena, Arkansas, Grandchildren: Mark Hamm of California, Samantha and Shawn Hamm of Alaska, Will and Toby Hamm of Coupeville, Washington, Moriah, Malachi and Lillian Lea of Mena, Arkansas; Brothers, Derell Hamm and Margaret of California,  David Hamm of Arizona; Sisters, Pat Smith of Fouke, Arkansas, Esther Rapp and husband Wendell of Mena, Arkansas.
