Both the Mena junior and senior high volleyball teams have been busy on the court here lately. Last Thursday, the Ladycats hosted Arkadelphia. The Jr. Ladycats won 2-0 (25-8, 25-6). In senior high action, the Mena JV squad defeated the Lady Badgers 2-0 (25-19, 25-16), before the varsity Ladycats completed the sweep 3-0 (25-20, 25-16, 25-18).

On Saturday, the Mena Jr. Ladycats competed in the Jr. Ladycats Classic at the Union Bank Center. In a volleyball filled day, teams from Arkadelphia, Arkansas High, Booneville, Greenwood, Jessieville, Mansfield, and Paris also competed with the Ladycats.

The Ladycats dominated pool play to earn a number one seed in the Gold Bracket. Mena then went on to win their semi-finals matchup and defeat the Paris Lady Eagles in the Gold Bracket Finals 2-1.

Mena Volleyball traveled to Waldron on Monday evening. Mena 7th grade won 2-0, as did the Jr. Ladycats. In the senior high contests, the Mena senior high JV team defeated the Waldron JV 2-0 and the Waldron varsity team 2-1.

On Tuesday, Mena Volleyball traveled to Magnolia. The Jr. JV contest went to the Ladycats 2-1, before the Mena Jr. Varsity squad won 2-0 (25-14, 25-6). In senior high action, the varsity Ladycats defeated the Lady Panthers in three sets 3-0 (25-12, 25-11, 25-10).

The Ladycats will be back on the court on Thursday at Malvern.

The Mena Jr. Ladycats are set to compete in a tournament at Jessieville on Saturday, as the Mena senior Ladycats compete in the first annual Rams MTXE Tournament at Lakeside High School.
