The Mena Volleyball season officially began last Thursday, August 22, when the senior high Ladycats competed in a benefit game at Van Buren High School. The senior variety Ladycats went 1-2 on the night, as the junior varsity team split 1-1.

On Monday, August 26, the Mena Jr. Ladycats hosted Fort Smith Ramsey at the Union Bank Center. The Jr. JV Ladycats lost their game 1-2, after winning the first set of the match 25-13. As for the Jr. Varsity team, Mena won the match 2-0, with 25-17 and 25-20 set wins. 

Both the Mena Sr. High and Jr. High Ladycats traveled to Paris on Tuesday, August 27. The Jr. Ladycats defeated Paris 2-1. Mena won the first set 25-18, then lost the second 14-25, before taking the tiebreaker set 15-13. 

In the senior high contest, the Mena Ladycats lost 3-0, by score of 23-25, 23-25, and 17-25. 

Next up, the Mena Jr. Ladycats are set to travel to Greenwood on Thursday, August 29. Mena Sr. High Volleyball will be back in action on September 7 in the Ladycat Classic.
