Lady Eagles prepare for Regionals

In local 7-2A Baseball and Softball, the Cossatot Lady Eagles remain as the only team advancing to the Regional Tournament at Parkers Chapel.

Last week in the 7-2A West District Tournament at Dierks High School, the Acorn Lady Tigers (3-15, 3-8) won their first round game over Gurdon (3-10, 2-6) 18-6. Advancing to the second round, the Lady Tigers were defeated by the Lady Rattlers (14-7, 6-2) of Murfreesboro 10-0. 

In baseball action, the Acorn Tigers (0-9, 0-7) ended their season with a first round loss to Foreman (8-12, 4-4) by fourteen, 17-3, in the first round of the 7-2A District Tournament on Monday, April 22. Also last Monday, the Cossatot Eagles (4-6, 2-5) lost their first round matchup to Gurdon (2-15, 1-6) by eleven, 14-3.

After earning Conference Runner-up and a bye until the District Semi-finals, the Cossatot Lady Eagles (8-4, 5-2) softball team matched up against the Murfreesboro Lady Rattlers (14-7, 6-2) on Thursday, April 25, and were defeated in a one-run game, 7-6. With their semi-final loss at District, the Lady Eagles received a #3 seed at Regionals, and will take on #2 seed Woodlawn (11-10, 6-2) in Round One of the 2A South Regional Tournament at Parkers Chapel High School on Thursday, May 2.
