Last week the Mena Ladycats senior high basketball team traveled to Little Rock to compete in the Pulaski Robinson Invitational Basketball Tournament.

In the first round of the tournament, the Ladycats (2-2) lost in overtime to the Caddo Hills Lady Indians (6-5) by seven, 53-46.

On Wednesday, Mena made the trip back to take on Mills University Studies. The Ladycats thumped the Lady Comets 63-24, to advance to a consolation game on Saturday.

A rematch was had on Saturday, as the Mena girls squared up with the Lady Indians of Caddo Hills for the second time in less than a week. The Ladycats held the lead for most of the game, but lost by three 48-45.

Both the Mena senior boys and senior girls basketball teams will be back in action on December 3 at the Union Bank Center as the Waldron Bulldogs come to town.
