The Rich Mountain athletic program has been busy as of late with the baseball and softball teams beginning conference play, and the soccer teams gearing up to kickoff their season this weekend.

Last Wednesday the Bucks Softball team traveled to Eastern Oklahoma State for a doubleheader, and Rich Mountain was swept 15-6 and 18-12.

Coach Lance Spigner and the Bucks Baseball team took the long drive to Western Oklahoma State on Friday to begin a four-game series. 

Rich Mountain won Game 1 of Friday’s doubleheader 15-10, before taking an 18-1 defeat in Game 2. The two squads wrapped up the series with a doubleheader on Saturday. Western Oklahoma State won Game 1 4-0, before the Bucks evened out the series with a 9-8 victory.

Also on Saturday, Rich Mountain Softball hosted Northern Oklahoma College Tonkawa at Cummings-Cecil Field. The Bucks were swept in the doubleheader 9-0 and 6-0.

Coach Tracy Nealy and Bucks Softball traveled to Carl Albert State College on Monday and split a doubleheader with an 11-3 loss and an 8-1 win.

Bucks Baseball hosted Eastern Oklahoma State on Tuesday at Union Bank Field and fell 11-1.

Both Bucks Baseball and Softball will be in action in Mena on Thursday. The baseball team is set to host Redlands Community College for a doubleheader, while Connors State College will make the trip to Mena to take on Rich Mountain Softball in a doubleheader.

The Rich Mountain women’s soccer team will open their season at Seminole State on Friday evening.

On Saturday, Bucks Baseball is set to travel to Redlands Community College for a doubleheader, while the Rich Mountain men’s soccer team hosts Ranger College.
