Defender's Boxing Club of Mena hosted the first ever female only boxing show in Arkansas last Saturday, October 5. The Female Fury 1 went included 18 fights with 36 boxers from 10 different states and 21 total gyms.

Close to 300 people were in attendance on Saturday evening as the exciting action to place. The local Attitude Angels Boxing Team from the Defender's Boxing Club did not disappoint. Ciara Self, 13, of Wickes, made her boxing debut and was victorious by unanimous decision. 

Kathryn Davison, 15, of the Defender's Boxing Club fought a very tough opponent and fell just short. The older Davison now holds a 2-2 boxing record. Sally Davison also competed in the event and defeated her opponent from North Dakota by unanimous decision, to improve her record to 4-0.

Richard Hexamer of Defender's Boxing Club noted on the event, "It was a great success."
