The Rich Mountain Bucks soccer teams have began practices for their inaugural season which will kick off shortly on August 13 at Lyon College.

At the moment, Head Bucks Soccer Coach, Brian Byrd, has 16 players on his girls roster, while over thirty athletes make up his mens team.

Coach Byrd commented on the first couple days of practice saying, "The kids have had to acclimate to the weather. The heat has stung a lot of them."

Regardless of the heat, Byrd noted, "They have done well fighting through it, and both teams are working extremely hard."

The Bucks are set to begin their season with a scrimmage match on August 13 at Lyon College, before hosting the Meet the Bucks event at Bearcat Stadium on August 15 at 6:00pm.

On the upcoming season, Byrd said, "The boys are going to be very hard to compete with this year."

"We are very deep and very talented."

Byrd mentioned on his women's team, "The girls don't have the numbers, but they have the heart."
