Last Friday, the University of Arkansas Rich Mountain Cross Country teams competed in the Bob Gravett Invitational along with Ouachita Baptist, Southern Arkansas University, Tarleton State University, and the University of Arkansas Monticello, on the campus of Ouachita Baptist University.

Coach Shores’ women’s team competed successfully. Shannan Gardner finished first for the Bucks coming in 35th place with a time of 24:01.2. Miriam Mendez followed behind in 40th (25:21.6),  Faith Hill in 41st (25:28.1), and Marlenne Mendez in 45th (26:30.5).

In the Men’s Race, Rich Mountain finished 4th overall. Finishing first for the Bucks was Jordan Foster with a time of 28:12.1. Asael Sanchez (29:53.6) and Robert McIntyre (29:59.5) finished next for Rich Mountain in 25th and 26th place. Cross Hughes placed 32nd (31:18.3), Ethan Sanders 34th (31:25.8), Clint Buck 35th (31:55.0),  Michael Tenorio 36th (31:58.7), JP Rojas 40th (34:08.1), and Osman Flores 41st (34:17.2).

The Bucks Cross Country teams will be back in action on Friday, September 20, at the Viking Pirate Open on campus of Carl Albert State College.
