Mena Girls Track Earns District Runner-Up

Last Tuesday, April 23, the Mena Sr. High Track team competed in the 4A Region 7 District Track Meet hosted by Mena High School. Teams from,  Arkadelphia, Bauxite, De Queen, Hope, Malvern, Mena, and Nashville competed in the meet.

~ Sr. Girls ~

In the Sr. Girls Division, the Mena Girls finished District Runner-up with 123 points, behind De Queen with 219 points. Nashville placed 3rd with 113, followed by Arkadelphia (78), Hope (53.5), Malvern (31.5), and Bauxite (6).

Emily Wagner qualified for the State Meet in the Girls High Jump event tying for 2nd place. Grayson Fairless earned 9th.

In the Girls Long Jump competition, Emily Wagner finished 5th, as her teammates Lauren Sikes, Grayson Fairless, and Hannah Stockton placed 10th, 16th, and 19th.

In the Girls Triple Jump event, Emily Wagner came in 7th.

Bethany Godwin finished 7th in the Girls Shot Put competition, while her teammates Hannah Stockton and Madyson Birtcher placed 10th and 13th.

Madyson Birtcher qualified for the State Meet in the Girls Discus Throw event with a 2nd place finish. Carleigh Smart, Hannah Stockton, and Rachel Wilson earned 11th, 13th, and 18th.

In the Girls Pole Vault competition, Bethany Godwin qualified for the State Meet with a  2nd place finish. 

The Mena Girls 4x800 Meter Relay team qualified for the State Meet with a 1st place finish.

Lauren Sikes qualified for the State Meet in the Girls 100 Meter Hurdles with a 2nd place finish. Danielle Hill placed 4th.

Emily Wagner and Kyntlie Wiles of Mena placed 9th and 18th in the Girls 100 Meter Dash.

Ally Wright finished 5th in the Girls 1600 Meter Run, as her teammates Hannah Stockton, Cori Hilton, and Marissa Ortiz placed 8th, 9th, and 10th.

The Mena Girls 4x100 Meter Relay team qualified for the State Meet with a 3rd place finish behind Nashville and Hope.

Jayden Harris qualified for the State Meet in the Girls 400 Meter Dash with a 1st place finish, while her teammates Bethany Godwin and Grayson Fairless finished 5th and 10th.

In the Girls 300 Meter Hurdles, Lauren Sikes qualified for the State Meet with a 3rd place finish, as her teammate Danielle Hill placed 6th.

Alex Harper qualified for the State Meet in the Girls 800 Meter Run with a 1st place finish, while Ally Wright placed 7th.

In the Girls 200 Meter Dash, Bethany Godwin placed 5th, as her teammates Emily Wagner, Kyntlie Wiles, and Cori Hilton placed 15th, 18th, and 19th.

Alex Harper finished 1st in the Girls 3200 Meter Run, while her teammate Marissa Ortiz placed 8th.

The Mena Girls 4x400 Meter Relay team qualified for the State Meet with a 2nd place finished behind De Queen.

~ Sr. Boys ~

In the Boys Division, Mena placed 4th overall with 82 points, behind Nashville (209.5), De Queen (192), and Hope (84.5). Arkadelphia finished in 5th with 46 points, foliowed by Bauxite (21) and Malvern (2).

Ashton Powell placed 8th in the Boys High Jump event, as his teammate Austin Kirkendoll finished 13th.

In the Boys Long Jump competition, Zane Stephens came in 4th, while his teammates Caleb Holmes, Caleb Peters, and Alex White placed 7th, 15th, and 19th.

Caleb Holmes finished 5th in the Boys Triple Jump event, as Caleb Peters placed 13th.

In the Boys Shot Put competition, Logan Yang came in 8th, while Matthew Bowser placed 15th.

Braxton Bahr placed 6th in the Boys Discus Throw event, as his teammates Zion Barnes and Bobby Willis finished 11th and 16th.

Jacob Flemens qualified for the State Meet with a 3rd place finish in the Boys Pole Vault compeition. Tre McMellon and Jake Short placed 6th and 7th.

The Mena Boys 4x800 Meter Relay team qualified for the State Meet with a 3rd place finish.

In the Boys 110 Meter Hurdles, Iaza Ingoglia placed 8th, as his teammate Chris Bollmeyer came in 10th.

In the Boys 100 Meter Dash, Caleb Holmes and Gaven Hooper finished 14th and 15th, while Jayden Castillo placed 22nd.

Robert McIntyre placed 6th in the Boys 1600 Meter Run, as his teammates Logan Myers and Tre McMellon placed 7th and 10th.

The Mena Boys 4x100 Meter Relay team placed 5th overall.

Damon Clark came in 13th place in the Boys 400 Meter Dash.

Iaza Ingoglia qualified for the State Meet with a 3rd place finish in the Boys 30 Meter Hurdles.

Devin Adams qualified for the State Meet with a 1st place finish in the Boys 800 Meter Run, as Caleb Peters placed 7th.

In the Boys 200 Meter Dash, Gaven Hooper finished 9th, as his teammate Ashton Powell placed 18th.

Robert McIntyre qualified for the State Meet with a 1st place finish in the Boys 3200 Meter Run, while his teammate Logan Myers came in 5th.

The Mena Boys 4x400 Meter Relay team qualified for the State Meet with a 2nd place finish behind Nashville.

Qualifying competitors from the Mena Track team competed in the 4A State Track Championship on Tuesday, April 30, at Batesville High School.
