Blake Dunn of Morrilton High School has committed to the University of Arkansas Rich Mountain baseball program. Dunn announced his commitment in a social media post in mid July stating that he is excited to continue his academic and athletic career at the University of Arkansas Rich Mountain.
On why he chose UA Rich Mountain, Dunn said, "Mena is a lot like Morrilton. It's a small, Christian community with people that support the local sports teams. It felt like home."
Dunn graduated from Morrilton High School this past year and says he plans to focus heavily on school this year, as well as manage the Bucks soccer team. In his free time, Dunn noted that he will, "lift and hit to gain some strength and skill."
In his career as a Morrilton Devil Dog, Dunn was a 4A All-Conference Player, a two-time Integrity Insurance Player of the Week, and a Gold Glove Award winner.
"It's a blessing, not many make it to the college level, and I am thankful for Coach Spigner for giving me the opportunity to do so," said Dunn on the chance to play baseball at the college level.
Lastly, in an interview with the Mena Star, Dunn added his favorite Bible verse.
"I will give thanks to you, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds." Psalms 9:1
