If the Tigers verses Elks matchup had been a battle of mascots, there would have been no contest. Unfortunately for the Tigers that was not the case. Both teams came into the tournament with similar records, with three losses each for the year. It's no wonder why it was such a close game.

Coach Mike Jackson's Lady Tigers came to play, showcasing their unrelenting style of attacking the basket; 21 of the Tigers 40 shot attempts came from inside the paint. Center Tori Barrett was not as effective in scoring as she was in the previous few games, only managing to make two out of seven field goals for four points in the game. She did pull down nine rebounds, seven of which were critical defensive rebounds keeping the Elks from too many second chance opportunities.

Shooting guards Faith Hill and Sophie Jackson did the majority of the scoring for Acorn, with 18 and 20 points respectively. Hill set up shop on the right side of the court knocking down jump-shot after jump-shot and even scoring on the inside despite her diminutive stature.

Jackson had a stellar performance with 20 points. She was solely responsible for Acorns' only successful three-point attempts as well as having four assists, three rebounds and three steals.

Ten turnovers and 12 fouls committed by the Acorn Tigers played a big part in allowing Elkins to secure a narrow victory.
