Mena Tennis hosts De Queen & Nashville

The Mena High School tennis team has been busy this week. On Tuesday, Mena hosted the De Queen Leopards before the Nashville Scrappers came to town on Thursday.

Mena Tennis won 3 of 4 doubles matches on Tuesday over the Leopards. Marissa Ortiz and Stephanie Lua teamed up for a 7-6 win in a tie breaker. Also garnering wins were the teams of Austin Rose and Will Davis who won 7-5, as well as Wilson Hughes and Luke Montgomery.

In singles matches on Tuesday, Wilson Hughes, Will Davis, and Eli Cook all earned wins over De Queen.

Mena continued their success on Thursday with the Scrappers of Nashville. Austin Rose (6-3) and Will Davis (6-1) both won their singles matches. In doubles, Wilson Hughes and Eli Cook earned a 6-1 victory, as well as the team of Will Davis and Wilson Hughes who won 6 sets to 3.

The Mena Tennis team will be back on the court on Tuesday, September 10, as the Bearcats and Ladycats host Malvern.
