Coach Chad Arnold is taking reigns of the Mena Jr. High Football team, after the school board approved the transfer last week. In years past, Arnold has been the defensive line and running backs coach for the Bearcats. As Arnold makes the move to Jr. High Head Coach, Ryan Luttmer will take over special teams for the senior high Bearcats.

"This is a big opportunity to me, and I am excited to be in a head coaching role," said Arnold on his move to Jr. High Head Coach.

Arnold called it an honor to get to coach the Jr. High team and noted, "The Jr. High program is the foundation, so we will be setting the foundation for them going into Sr. High."

Going into this year, Arnold said his goal is to have a winning season.

"We play a tough junior high schedule with 6A Russellville, Broken Bow, and a lot of competitive teams in the conference."

"It's going to be a challenge, but the expectations are set high."

Arnold says he wants his team to be disciplined and to have a good base knowledge of the expectations and terminology they will need in senior high.
