Autumn Powell of Mena High School made history last Friday, November 1, by becoming the first athlete to sign a Letter of Intent to play softball for the Rich Mountain Bucks. Powell signed her LOI in front of friends and family, along with Buck Softball Coach Tracy Nealy and other UARM administrators.

Coach Nealy spoke to those in attendance before the signing stating, “How more appropriate than for the first softball signee in Rich Mountain history to be from Mena?” Nealy expressed his excitement for the Bucks Softball program, and for Powell to be joining the Bucks for their inaugural season.

The Bucks Softball program is set to officially begin in the Fall of 2020.
