Barnes signs with McNeese State

Zion Barnes of Mena High School signed his Letter of Intent to play college football at McNeese State University on Monday, May 6. Surrounded by his Bearcat teammates, family, and friends, Barnes signed to play for the Cowboys of McNeese State.

“He’s one of the hardest working young men I have ever been around, “said Bearcat Football Coach Tim Harper. “There have been mornings I have shown up and he was out there with his phone propped up practicing his moves, and there have been evenings when I left and he was out there with his phone propped up practicing his moves.”

Harper added, “There is no one here that is surprised about this moment.”

The McNeese State Cowboys are a Division I-FCS team in the Southland Conference located in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
